Last May, Socolait’s Executive Committee set aside their files and picked up paintbrushes and rakes for a day of solidarity alongside the organization Les Enfants du Soleil. Together, they brought color back to the dormitory and study room walls, adding inspiring messages to foster motivation and perseverance among the children. The day also included gardening activities and meaningful moments of sharing, rich with smiles and genuine human connection.
Socotsiky : more than a program, a mission
Attentive faces, spontaneous laughter, and helping hands gathered around a tree to be planted or a message to be drawn : every detail on that day reflected the sincerity of a simple yet deeply meaningful commitment. It wasn’t just about painting walls or creating green spaces. It was about building environments where children feel safe, supported, and encouraged-spaces that restore confidence and spark joy.
This is the spirit that drives the Socotsiky program.
Impact of Socolait on Les Enfants du Soleil
Every initiative under the Socotsiky program aims to rekindle a spark, bring joy where it may be missing, and remind each child that they matter, they have potential and a future.
Les Enfants du Soleil is one of six partner associations involved in the Socotsiky program, which was launched by Socolait to help improve the nutritional health of children and vulnerable populations in the Vakinankaratra region through the regular, free distribution of dairy products. Today, 220 children are supported by the EDS organization, and a total of 1,264 children are direct beneficiaries of the Socotsiky program.
At this shelter for children living on the streets, located in the heart of Antsirabe, the walls became messengers of hope for a day. Through color, play, and shared glances, the true promise of Socotsiky came to life : the promise of a smile, restored.
